Education

Mary McClary aka Isheba, received her Associates of Arts in Child Development from LaGuardia Community College located in Long Island City, New York in 1996; Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from York College situated in Queens, New York in 2006; and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from South University located in Virginia Beach, Virginia in April 2013.

Experience

Mary worked as a pre-school and kindergarten teacher at three day care centers located in Brooklyn and Queens, New York for a total of thirteen years and is knowledgeable in curriculum development and program planning. The last six of the thirteen years was spent as a Head Start teacher at Nat Azarow Day Care Center located in Brownsville, Brooklyn, New York. Mary has worked as a Treatment Counselor in 2008 at a residential treatment facility in Portsmouth, Virginia for one year. She has been employed as an Intensive In-Home Counselor in 2009 for one year, was promoted, and had worked as a Clinical Mental Health Support Supervisor for the last five years for a privately owned counseling agency.

Mary has enrolled in the Positive Behavior Support (PBS) program in 2010, (supporting individuals with disabilities) to become a Positive Behavioral Support Facilitator within the state of Virginia. During her academic achievement at South University, Mary fulfilled one year of internship experience providing individual and group counseling sessions with children, adolescents, and adults from various ethnicities, and who had mild to severe mental health and substance abuse challenges. Additionally, Mary co-facilitated a few of the domestic violence groups for both men and woman. She acquired training and educational credits and is now a Certified Batterer’s Intervention Specialist for the state of Virginia. Upon completion of her internship requirements in December 2012, Mary has been contracted since January 2013 to facilitate Domestic Violence classes weekly.

During Mary’s free time, she enjoys listening and playing cultural music, reading conscious and uplifting passages, creating copper jewelry, and assisting others with reaching their full potential. “Individuals exemplify ROYAL capabilities, have DIVINE purpose in life, and are capable of creating SOLUTIONS through a facilitative process. Payments are accepted in cash, money orders, PayPal, credit cards (no debit cards) and cashier’s check.
